Wesleyan vs. GACS (8/13/09)12-0Wesleyan Falls Short on Their First Outing Unfortunately, the Wolves showed up with a bit of first game nerves.We had an impressive showing of pitching by Isabella Mateu.The GACS girls did not get a hit beyond the infield.Emily Farrow did a great job behind the plate and provided the Wolves with the first hit of the season. The most memorable moment on the field was when Kristen Solomon caught a screaming line drive down third base and later a pop up to end the inning. We have great talent out on the field and are looking forward to our Wolf power!
Wesleyan vs. St. Pius (8/15/09)20-5Wolves Came out Swinging Their Bats The Wolves came out swinging the bats in an overwhelming victory over St. Pius.Lillie Baker led the pack with 3 for 4 hitting as well as 5 RBIs.Marie Fithian also was 2-3 with 2 RBIs.Also getting hits for the Wolves were Meredith DiStasi, Haley Gleerup, Jenna Bartlett, Isabella Mateu, and Emily Farrow.Haley Gleerup came into the game with a strong inning to relieve Isabella Mateu from another great outing as pitcher.The team displayed incredible fielding, and they are ready to take on this season.
Wesleyan vs. Kings Ridge (8/17/09)20-1 Another Overwhelming Victory! The MS Wolves showed up for another overpowering win Kings Ridge.The Wolves had solid pitching by Riley Henning and Haley Gleerup as well as an extremely strong team backing them up in the field.The bats were hot again with hits by Emily Farrow, Sydney Stone, Marie Fithian, Lillie Baker, Jenna Bartlett, Riley Henning, Maddie Turnbull, Katie McLaughlin, Hope Morgan, and an unbelievable grand slam by Haley Gleerup.The Wolves defense was there for the team throughout the game. Wesleyan vs. Buford (9/2/09) In Battle of the Wolves, Buford Comes Out on Top The MS Wolves were dominated by a challenging Buford pitcher in their 15-0 loss. Riley Henning had another solid outing as a 7th grade pitcher for the Wolves. Emily Farrow had a powerful hit off a dominating pitcher, and Haley Gleerup laid down a perfect bunt to help Emily advance to third base. The MS Wolves have a hard-working, positive team spirit, and they look forward to playing a strong game next week.
Wesleyan vs. Lovett (9/9/09) – 15-14 So Close! What an exciting game for all who played and attended the MS Wolves game last night! The girls had a hitting extravaganza, and they showed their positive spirit throughout the game. This group of girls is what a team is all about… Not only did they work hard in the field talking to their teammates, but the dugout was full of enthusiasm throughout the game lead by Ali Godwin. Isabella was back with her great pitching for the Wolves after an ankle injury, and Marie took over the mound with outstanding pitches. Riley finished up the game and threw many strikes against Lovett. Emily Farrow had some powerful hits last night, and Sydney Stone was tough in the outfield. Kristen Solomon was extremely solid at third base. Meredith DiStasi and Madeline Day had the crowd cheering with their hard hits and extra bases. The girls’ hitting was extraordinary and defensively they did a great job. The game could have gone either way, but in the end Lovett barely survived. Go Wolves! Great game!
